Delivered by The Courier Guy.
u-Shop delivers with The Courier Guy, South Africa's largest delivery service. Buyers are quoted a real rate at checkout for their own address — never a flat fee, never a guess.
From Checkout To Doorstep
The buyer enters their address
At checkout they fill in where the parcel is going. Nothing is quoted until we know that — a rate depends on the distance.
We ask the courier what it costs
u-Shop asks The Courier Guy for a live rate for that exact parcel, from that shop to that address. No flat fees and no guesswork.
The buyer chooses and pays
They pick a delivery speed, or a locker to collect from, and pay it with their order. The price quoted is the price charged.
The shop packs it
The seller packs and labels the parcel. We either book the collection for them automatically, or email them everything they need to book it themselves.
Everyone can follow it
A tracking number appears on the buyer's Orders page as soon as the collection is booked, and updates as the parcel moves.
Delivery Terms
Who carries the goods
The Courier Guy carries the parcel, not u-Shop. We obtain the rate and collect it with the order on the seller's behalf. Delivery windows shown at checkout are the courier's estimate, not a guarantee.
Packaging is the seller's responsibility
Goods must be packaged to withstand the ordinary rigours of road transport. A damage claim on an inadequately packaged parcel will not succeed against the courier or u-Shop. See the packaging guide.
- Nothing over 1 m on any side, or 50 kg.
- Courier lockers are tighter: 20 kg, and it must fit the locker box.
- 17 kg is the most one person may lift — above that, someone must help the driver at both ends.
- Anything over these limits is not offered courier delivery; the shop arranges it directly.
Collections
Sellers must have the parcel packed, labelled and available at the collection address within the booked collection window. Where a courier attends and no parcel is available, any charge the courier levies for that attendance is for the seller's account and may be recovered by u-Shop against the seller.
Addresses and collection points
A rate depends on the address given. An incorrect or incomplete address can delay a parcel or make it undeliverable, and any resulting charge is for the account of whoever supplied it. Parcels sent to a locker must be collected within the courier's holding period, after which they are returned to the seller.
These terms sit alongside the u-Shop terms and The Courier Guy's own terms of carriage. Where the courier's terms govern the carriage itself, theirs apply.
