How delivery works
Live courier rates at checkout, and what you need to set up.
When courier delivery is switched on, buyers enter their address at checkout and are quoted a live rate from The Courier Guy. They pay it with their order, so you are never out of pocket on freight.
What you need to set up
- 1Open Business Dashboard → Settings → Delivery and fill in your collection address. This is where the driver collects from, and it can differ from the address on your shop page.
- 2Add a contact name and mobile number for collection, so the driver knows who to ask for.
- 3Choose whether we book the waybill for you automatically once an order is paid, or email you the parcel details to book yourself.
- 4Optionally add your own Courier Guy account — then shipments bill to you at your rates instead of u-Shop's.
Give your products a size and weight
On each product you can set weight and dimensions. Leave them blank and we quote on a standard 30 × 20 × 15 cm, 1 kg parcel — fine for small items, but it will under-quote anything bulky.
If you have not set a collection address
Nothing breaks. Buyers are told that your shop arranges delivery directly, the sale still goes through, and no delivery is charged. You then arrange it with them as before.
Size and weight limits
- •Nothing over 1 m on any side, or 50 kg.
- •Lockers are tighter: 20 kg, and it must fit the locker box.
- •Over 17 kg, someone needs to help the driver lift it at both ends.
- •An item over these limits will not be offered courier delivery at all — you will arrange that one directly.
See “Packaging your parcels” for how to pack so nothing arrives damaged.
